In 1919, Mario Buccellati launched his eponymous jewelry house with the opening of his first shop in Milan and quickly built a reputation for his richly embellished traforato, or finely pierced goldwork.  This necklace features a series of leaves in 18k Gold which Mario Buccellati, Maison’s founder, originally designed and produced in the 1930s. Buccellati took his inspiration from a botany book recommended to him in a letter sent in 1929 by his friend, Gabriele d’Annunzio.
